Lemosho route identified as one of the variations of Londrossi routes crosses over the collapsed volcanic crater known as the Shira Plateau. It is an isolated route on the initial days providing trekkers with a solitary experience, with limited individuals to be seen around. This is a huge advantage for those who want to avoid the distraction of other people. However its appeal is growing to a larger number of individuals, and it is a fairly recent version of the traditional Shira route. Registration for both Lemosho and Shira takes place at Londrossi Gate (2250m), however both trails divide thereafter. Similarly to the Machame route, Lemosho provides the trekker with great altitude acclimatisation, and the fact that the starting point is at a lower elevation adds to this.
